Nova Scotia Invites Express Entry Candidates
On December 1, Nova Scotia issued new invitations for the candidates to apply for a nomination for Canadian PR. Candidates can apply under its Express Entry-linked Labor Market Priorities immigration stream.
However, the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) did not mention the number of invitations issued in the draw.
The Labor Market Priorities Stream enables NSNP to search the Express Entry Pool for candidates who comply with the province’s labor market needs. However, the past draws that happened under this stream invited people having experience in:
- Programming and Media Development
- Automotive Industry Workers
The province issued invitations to eligible candidates on December 1. However, the invited eligible candidates are those who are having a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer. Moreover, the job offer must be for full-time professional work in Nova Scotia.
The job offer should be valid for at least one year after the permanent visa is issued. However, the term “full-time” refers to working year-round and at least 30 hours per week.
The eligible candidates need to have one year of professional, job-related work experience. However, they need to show a secondary school diploma in Canada or the equivalent.
Finally, the draw invited Express Entry candidates who scored 5 or higher in French or English. The Express Entry candidates need to show their Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score to get consideration.
Invitations have been issued to eligible candidates today. Moreover, the selected candidates will need to submit their complete application to NSNP within 30 calendar days.
The eligible candidates will need to show a copy of their language tests. They will also need to provide proof of their education, and a job offer should be attached with the application.
Eligibility for Express Entry Pool
In order to get consideration for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia via Labor Market Priorities Stream, candidates will need to register their profile in the Express Entry System.
This system manages and processes applications regarding Canadian permanent residence under three federal immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
Express Entry System makes use of CRS to rank the candidates. However, candidates will get ranking according to their CRS scores. The points are awarded based on several factors like age, education, work experience, and language ability in French or English.
Moreover, Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination will also get 600 CRS points. These points guarantee the candidates that they will receive ITA in the coming Express Entry draws.
