Well, Canada has made a concerted effort to welcome more workers, so its shores to feed the need of its flourishing tech industry. However, there are more than 100 different options for tech workers. Tech workers can get Canadian PR or a work permit in Canada.
Immigration Pathways for Tech Talent

Express Entry is a major way for candidates who want to apply for Canadian immigration. However, applicants will need to submit their profile on the IRCC website. The registration of profiles is free. IRCC will award scores to candidates according to their human capital criteria. This criterion involves the age of a candidate, work experience, education, and language skills.
IRCC will hold Express Entry draws after every two weeks. These draws invite candidates who are having the highest CRS scores. The candidates will get an invitation to apply for PR.
Throughout the pandemic, Express Entry draws have remained a constant fixture. Canada is trying to stick with its Immigration Levels Plan 2020 – 2022, even during the coronavirus pandemic.
Canada is giving priority to tech workers who applied for Express Entry Visa Canada. The country is in strong need of tech workers, and they are working on it. Tech workers are the leading source of successful candidates under Express Entry.
It is the second biggest option for tech workers who are willing to immigrate to Canada. Provincial Nominee Program is also targeting the tech workers so that they can work in different provinces of Canada.

However, successful candidates will need to get endorsement by any angel investor, venture capital firm, or a business incubator that has been designated by IRCC. Once the candidate gets an endorsement letter, they can go ahead to submit the permanent residence application.
Work Permit Options
Canada offers numerous pathways for tech talent who want a work visa. However, temporary foreign workers are exempt from the travel restrictions of Canada during COVID-19. Global Talent Stream of Canada has become an ideal option for tech workers in recent years.
Thus, the processing time to get a work permit is about four weeks in total. Canada makes it easy for Canadian employers to hire highly skilled talent under the Global Talent Stream. However, the Global Talent Stream was introduced in 2017. So far, it has helped to facilitate the arrival of 40,000 tech workers.
