B.C. invites 168 immigration candidates in first PNP draw of 2021

Every year, thousands of immigrants move to Canada through Canada Province Nomination Program. However, Canada is a perfect place for people who want to enjoy a high quality of life. Canada is full of people from different regions who want to live and work in Canada.

However, communities living in B.C. are ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse. The immigrants are accounting for approximately 27% of the population. Additionally, 5% of the population is made up of indigenous Aboriginal people.

The official languages of Canada are English and French. However, English is the main language of B.C. Moreover, many other languages are being spoken in B.C. These languages are Punjabi, Chinses, Korean, Urdu, Hindi, and more.

B.C. Invites 168 Candidates

British Columbia conducted its recent on January 5, 2020. The province has invited a total of 168 candidates under Canada Province Nomination Program. The provincial government issued invitations via Express Entry B.C as well as Skills Immigration streams.

The government has invited the candidates under the following sub-categories: International Graduate, Skilled Worker, and Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled.

Here are details of the sub-categories that are in the draw and the minimum scores that are necessary to get an invitation:

  • Skills Immigration: International Graduate: 95
  • Skills Immigration: Skilled Worker: 95
  • Express Entry BC: International Graduate: 99
  • Skills Immigration Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled:77
  • Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker: 99

Moreover, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic continues to influence the activities of various sectors and businesses in B.C.  This is the reason why they exclude some occupations from recent draws. However, you can find a list of not available occupations in the last draw on the BC PNP web page.

 The Express Entry and Skills Immigration streams of the BC PNP attract and retain international graduates or workers. However, the candidates should have qualifications, education, and work experience to fill high-demand British Columbia positions.

Apply for Canada Province Nomination Program

Suppose you are looking to apply under any of those two streams. You will need to create a profile through the online portal of B.C. PNP. However, you will need to register under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

The department will evaluate and issues a score according to various factors like the job, level of education, location, proficiency in English, work experience, and salary. You will get the provincial nomination upon approval to apply for Canadian PR with IRCC. IRCC will send invitations under Provincial Nominee Program.

If you have a profile in the Express Entry system and get a B.C nomination, you will get 600 CRS points. However, these points are helpful to guarantee you that you will get an Invitation to Apply. The province will send invitations in a future federal Express Entry draw.
