Canada Immigration – Overview of Points System

The new Canadian Express Entry system is now live for processing international applications and it is favourable for all federal economic programs. All these programs offer a tremendous advantage for people who are looking to migrate to Canada. Our Canada Immigration Consultants believe that the highest-ranking immigration candidates will get a greater chance of approval for Canadian permanent residents. Therefore, you need to understand the Canada Immigration Points System before applying.

Comprehensive Ranking System

The Canadian Government makes use of a merit-based points system that will secure ranking during the immigration process. This exclusive system appoints a score to each candidate in the Express Entry pool and it is known as the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Every candidate will get points in terms of CRS score.

Express Entry composes three programs:

  1. Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
  2. Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
  3. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

After applying to the Express Entry pool, each candidate will get CRS to score out of 1200 points. Moreover, the Canadian Government will organize an Express Entry draw within a gap of two weeks.

In this system, candidates will get a round of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) so they can apply for PR. However, only the highest-ranking candidates will apply to this program. Your profile information and other essential data, as well as your ITA number will be safe with IRCC. Our Canada Immigration Consultants believes the minimum score should be between 300-600 points.

Students must create an active express entry profile for these Express Entry Programs. Contact our immigration agents to get your Express Entry Visa Canada. However, this entry profile must demonstrate your-

  • Valid date of birth
  • Language proficiency
  • Academic levels
  • Vocational Exposure
  • Additional Essential factors

Every aspirant will get points according to these factors. This dynamic scoring method of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) will decide all migrants’ Canadian immigration points.

In the Express Entry draws, you will get a cutoff score. Candidates with high immigration points will get an invitation to apply for Canadian Immigration. Contact our Canada Immigration Consultants to understand the CRS more accurately.

Federal Skilled Worker: A different points system

In addition, the Federal Skilled Worker program includes another points system along with a traditional CRS score. If you are going apply for FSW, your express entry profile should meet all the minimum eligibility criteria’ standards. The FSW points, along with CRS scores, will be calculated. The maximum figure of the FSW score is 100, while in CRS, it is 1200.

All FSW nominees must achieve at least 67 scores out of 100 points to successfully submit an Express Entry profile. However, like CRS scores, the FSW score is calculated according to the candidates’ age, language fluency, professional experience, and connection to Canada. If you still have confusion in understanding these factors, contact our Canada Immigration Consultants.

If you manage to get a score of 67/100, it opens up the door for the Express Entry pool. When a candidate gets this minimum FSW score, He/she can calculate their CRS score as well. On the other hand, there are FST and CEC. However, our immigration agents suggest that the candidates do not use these point systems to measure their eligibility.
